Play-based learning experiences are provided for older children who no longer don’t sleep in centre. Our toddler room is set up with intentional play-based learning in mind.
Our early learning centre offers a Government-funded kindergarten program and long day care under the one roof. Our kindergarten teachers are University qualified and provide a play-based learning program that will support your child in learning the skills for school and life. Uniting offers exceptional kindergarten programs across Victoria, focusing on early childhood development, inclusivity, and community involvement. In our program, missing a day typically does not impact the 15 hours of funded kinder provided by the government. However, if your child is enrolled for care beyond the funded kinder session, you may still be charged for the additional hours at the standard daily rate. A kindergarten program is run during long day care for 3-year-old and 4-year-old children enrolled in our long day care program. Our kindergarten has early childhood qualified and registered teachers. The teachers are dedicated to, and passionate about, early childhood education.
Our Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teachers collaborate with the local primary school to deliver a Government-approved Kindergarten program that prepares children for a smooth transition to school. Our kinder children enjoy excursions to nearby Glen Park, and we host visits from the librarian, dentist, and emergency services, ensuring a well-rounded, enriching experience for every child. Our purpose-built child care and kindergarten centre in Bayswater provides innovative early learning programs in a safe, nurturing and enriching environment. Our outdoor environments are spacious and designed for exploration, featuring a large bike track, climbing fort and swings. We offer four purpose-built rooms, providing ample space for children to play independently and with peers. Our kindergarten room includes an interactive whiteboard, enhancing children’s learning with engaging and interactive educational activities.

Showing kindness – It’s important for us to practice and rolemodel manākitanga by showing respect, hospitality and care for others. Children develop their social awareness and social skills – fairness, kindness/atawhai, turn taking and mahi tahi/working together – building relationships from which we all learn. I love Resource Rescue because the shelves of odds and ends inspire children (and adults!) to make new things by reusing old materials. By using recycled materials, creative experiences affordable and accessible to everyone – plus of course it’s good for the planet. While the times of your kindergarten sessions may vary depending on your specific location, children attend kindergarten for 15 hours a week.

We have an experienced food coordinator who prepares all meals in accordance with Australian dietary guidelines, using fresh ingredients delivered under our strict food safety program. Our educators are trained in various programs to support the mental health of your child and are skilled in working with children who have experienced challenges and trauma. We can also refer to mental health support programs for families if you find yourself in need of assistance.
